The Real ID Act of 2005 is, by far, one of the most frightening Acts ever passed into law. Even though it claims to be a law all States must voluntarily pass, it is fully equipped with threats to ensure that the States pass it. Even with the threats, some States are refusing. Montana, for example. Many States have passed legislation to delay, repeal, or refuse the law. It has come to the attention of Shattering Denial that the government is using a sneaky and underhanded method for getting States to go along with the law even before legislation can be passed, either supporting or not. The Feds have begun mandating directly to State DMVs that they start implementing the law. The idea is that the State law makers will figure there is no use fighting the law if the DMVs are already going along with it.
